Which One Should I Choose?
Not sure whether you need a Discount/Promo Code or a Loyalty Reward/Wallet Drop? Start by thinking about who should receive the offer and how you want the guest to redeem it.
- Choose the Discount Form if the offer should be available to anyone and is redeemed using a promo code or in-store discount button.
- Choose the Loyalty Reward Form if the offer should be limited to Thompson Table Rewards members and the Reward should be loaded directly to their loyalty account for redemption.
Quick rule of thumb:
Code = Promo/Discount
Rewards Account = Loyalty Reward/Wallet Drop
Need to request one?
👉 [Request a Discount/Promo Code]
👉 [Request a Loyalty Reward/Wallet Drop]
This distinction is important because a wallet drop is designed to control who receives the offer, while a promo code is designed to control what discount is applied at checkout.
| Discount / Promo Code | Loyalty Reward / Wallet Drop | |
| Who can use it? | Anyone who has the code (unless additional restrictions apply) | Rewards members only |
| How does the guest redeem? | Enters/shows a promo code or uses an in-store discount button | Enters their Thompson Table Rewards phone number at checkout |
| Where does the offer live? | Nowhere in the guest's loyalty account. Guests will get the code through an email or SMS. | In the guest's rewards wallet |
| Does the guest need to be a member? | No | Yes |
| Example | “Use code HOT10 for 10% off” | “A $5 Reward added to your Thompson Table Rewards wallet” |
| Can we target specific members? | No, anyone with the code can potentially use it | Yes, we choose exactly which members receive it |
